Vrije Hogeschool: Het Offer
Het Offer was a multidisciplinary performance by students from the Vrije Hogeschool, who were guided by Maxi Hill (dance), Gerbrand Bos (theatre) and Julia (music) in their creative process.
Using Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring as an inspiration, the students explored their views on the current state of the earth and society, what sacrifices might have to be made, and what their hopes for the future would be. Julia worked with a group of students on creating the music for the performance, using thematic and musical material from the Rite of Spring as a starting point. The musical outcomes were extremely varied, from an electronic soundscape to a percussion piece to a cappella choral music.
