It’s Coming In Waves

An exploration of working with hydrophone recordings and electromagnetic sounds as material.
Thinking about electromagnetic waves as well as physical waves in water, and being interested by the very different sound qualities, I wanted to combine and juxtapose the two. Working on the final stages of the piece during the pandemic, the oppressive feeling that came with being in lockdown, suddenly occurring from time to time and then washing away again like a wave, became a part of it for me as well.

The recordings have been made in the fall of 2018 in London, around the Thames and the pedestrian tunnel between Greenwich and Canning Town.
Best listened to on headphones.
