Curious: From Silence
Curious: From Silence was a collaboratively curated exhibition for Tate Exchange, shown at Tate Modern in 2018. It contained different works by students and Fellows from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Leadership Department, and invited the audience to participate, add and explore.
Julia’s piece in this event was The Library Of Silence, a catalogue of recorded quiet places in Tate Modern. Audience members were invited to discover the museum with their ears, take a recorder and contribute recordings to the library.

After the exhibition, The Library Of Silence project continued in a slightly different way. Fascinated by how every place that is perceived as silent sounds differently, Julia records and catalogues silent places she visits.
